주님,
나는 주님께서 갈릴리 바다 건너편에서 오천명을 먹이시고
그 날 밤 바다를 걸어 배에 타고 있던 제자들에게 오신 것을 기억합니다.
충성스럽고 용감했던 베드로는 당신이 오라는 말을 듣고
배에서 내려 물위를 걸어 당신에게 다가 갔었지요.
하지만 바람을 보고 무서워하여 바다에 빠지게 되자 소리쳤었지요.
살려달라고, 구원해 달라고..
당신은 손을 내밀어 그를 붙잡고 책망했었지요.
"믿음이 작은 자여 왜 의심하였느냐?"
"You of little faith." "Why did you doubt?"
우리가 그랬습니다.
믿음이 약하고 의심이 많아 암따위의 질병에 빠져 헤어나지 못한 적이 있었습니다.
겁을 집어 먹은 베드로처럼 살려 달라고, 구원해 달라고 소리만 친 적이 있었습니다.
우리를 불쌍히 여겨 주옵소서.
한치의 의심도 없는 담대한 믿음을 허락하여 주옵소서.
주님이 오라고 하시면 그 곳이 바다가 아니라 하늘이라 하더라도
얼마든지 날아 갈 수 있는 담대한 믿음을 허락하옵소서.
주님이 함께 하시면 우리는 날 수 있습니다.
정말입니다. 하늘 끝까지도 닿을 수 있습니다.
주님이 함꼐 하시면 우리는 무엇이든 할 수 있습니다.
정말입니다. 그렇게 믿사오며 베드로를 책망하셨던
